Equity Pathways develops and builds partnerships in low socioeconomic areas with schools, educational providers, and communities. As an Equity and Pathways Mentor, my primary goals were to raise student aspiration to higher education and provide students with a variety of pathways to access higher education. Equity and pathways programs primarily target primary and high-school students from low socioeconomic areas and backgrounds; and from rural and indigenous communities to provide students and their families with aspirations and motivation to pursue higher education. My duties included:- Give a presentation (usually around 60 minutes) about psychology as a field of study and future profession- Coordinate and supervise special functions hosted by the university- Educate and host workshop (e.g. study smart days) for aspiring students- Work with primary and high school students in special excursions hosted by the university.

My role was - to assist students with special needs under the Education Inclusion Plan by providing a clear and comprehensive lecture and tutorial notes and explain the study material when necessary. - be mindful of the needs of people with special needs and an understanding of confidentiality
