I have worked in the Police since 2005 knowing I wanted to work in Law Enforcement. I began my career in uniform on neighbourhood policing where I was able to work collaboratively with other agencies & colleagues. Following this I spent time on a response team where we had to work dynamically, responding to high-pressured situations and emotionally challenging scenarios whilst maintaining a professional performance. This thread through to every department I worked in. Communication skills are imperative in each role whether it be dealing with a suspect, victim, witness, external agency or writing reports, using a variety of different communication skills appropriate to the situation is key. I moved to a plain clothed role, responding to intelligence led policing for 2 years which required critical thinking, evaluating situations logically and making decisions based on evidence and experience, adjusting to challenges and environments swiftly & efficiently whilst also managing & resolving disputes effectively & calmly.I was then looking for a new challenge and moved into investigations. This gave me the opportunity to develop my critical thinking, interviewing & report writing skills. I am able to write clear, concise & comprehensive reports that can be used in legal contexts & conduct effective interviews to gather information and evidence. I work well independently & as part of a team & have mentored junior officers to impart the knowledge I have gained over my time in the Police. My current role in Cyber Crime has provided me the opportunity to work alongside & collaborate with external agencies & private companies. I am technically proficient, making use of various technologies and databases for research & investigative purposes. I process, extract and review mobile telephones & computers, identifying the relevant parts & producing reports to be used in legal proceedings. I am trained in the grading of CSAM & victim identification for those who don't have a voice. I am also trained in Disaster Victim identification & have attended Grenfell Tower and Manchester Arena, assisting in the recovery of the deceased using the upmost respect in order to return the bodies of the deceased to the families as soon as possible. I have strong time management skills where I am efficient at managing my time to prioritise tasks in a dynamic & often unpredictable environments. I have strong analytical skills to assess information critically, identify patterns, & make informed decisions. I have the character and desire to help people in need
