Working as a special needs teacher has required me to develop specialized programmes for the classrooms, carry out adaptations of syllabus and lesson plans, as well as carry out therapy sessions for a wide range of learning difficulties.

The role was to support all the aspects from the beginning until the finalization of the therapy: first session, administer and correction of tests, diagnosis of mental health issues or learning difficulties, therapy and/or development of programs for the classroom if needed, as well as liaising with the other therapists when required.

“Escoles Betlem” is a small school 20 km from Barcelona, Spain, that offers education in Spanish, Catalan and English. I worked as an English teacher and course coordinator all through primary, from 1st to 6th grades, developed classroom programmes and projects, preparation for TRINITY exams (grades 1-5) as well as teaching Arts and Crafts, Science and Drama in English. I had also worked as a kindergarten teacher at the school, helping with the psychomotricity and early development programmes.

My role in the clinic was to offer individual therapy sessions in Russian to patients that were going through a rehabilitation therapy in the clinic, working closely with the doctors and coaches on site.
