About Ananya Iyer

I am a rising third-year neuroscience major and pre-med student at Barnard College of Columbia University. Most of all, I am passionate about using biomedical science for good, particularly in the realms of youth mental health and social justice.Over the past years, I have built up experience in experimental design, lab work, data analysis, and scientific communication. I have also worked on numerous projects advocating for teen mental health. In addition to facility with lab equipment and statistical software, my skills include strong communication and attention to detail. In my free time, I love to read, listen to podcasts, crack the NYTimes crossword puzzle, and attempt every vegan recipe I can find. In the future, I hope to work in academia, medicine, and/or biotechnology and communicate new developments in science to the general public. I’m open to any opportunities in molecular biology research (either with wet- or dry-lab emphases), health advocacy/education, and the medical field. If you are looking for a highly attentive and eager learner, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to connecting with you soon!
