Grey Matters is a literary neuroscience journal written/published by undergraduates at Columbia University, with the goal of making neuroscience accessible to a wide audience. The Occidental Sexual Assault Coalition (OSAC) is a small, student-led group dedicated to raising awareness of the sexual assault epidemic on college campuses. OSAC works with various administrative groups to advocate for the best policies and practices to provide for a safe and equitable student experience at Occidental. As a member, I worked on getting our website/mailing list off the ground, organizing self-care nights for survivors, and assisted with other administrative initiatives.

The Disabled Students Union (DSU) is a club for all students who identify as disabled or allies to come together to support each other, create a space for sharing disabled experiences, and educate about disabilities and disability culture. As one of the first members of DSU, I worked on writing and editing sections for the DSU Guide, an informative manual designed to help community members navigate the disabled experience at Occidental.

I also identified possible limitations of research methods and results, and attempted to place scientific findings within a larger social context.

Sources of Strength is a national program dedicated to providing evidence-based prevention for suicide, violence, bullying, and substance abuse by training, supporting, and empowering both peer leaders and caring adults to impact their world through the power of connection, hope, help and strength. I worked with school administrators to begin implementing a chapter of Sources of Strength at Nueva and established the peer leadership program.

I worked after school throughout the week and on weekends. I prepared drinks/food items with attention to detail to produce consistent results, also learning to prioritize and multitask efficiently. Additionally, I interacted with customers and performed cleaning/restocking tasks to maintain a welcoming store environment.
