Engineering Director for infrastructure, tools, and delivery of Microsoft Teams

I coached developers on testing, built infrastructure and tools, migrated our team to git, and led efforts for data collection and analysis on a very cool, but unreleased service for Windows.

I ran a virtual team that created the majority of the build, test tools and infrastructure for the Xbox One organization. I ran the team like an Open Source project, and had over 100 people contribute on hundreds of work items over the course of the project. I contributed significantly to this project - mostly on low level tools and utilities. I reported directly to the Xbox Director of Test and served as his chief of staff, running technical meetings, and worked alongside the managers in charge of the Xbox One console.I also chaired the advisory council for a group of about 300 high-level testers at Microsoft and organize a weekly meetup of Microsoft's Senior test individual contributors (test architect group)

- Responsible for strategy, team growth, coaching and mentoring of over 80 testers- Implemented successful improvement efforts in exploratory testing, customer focused test design, code reviews, test code quality, static analysis, test metrics, and end to end test automation systems- Chair of Unified Communications Interoperability Forum (UCIF) working group on testing and certification

November 2007 to February 2010: Director, Test Excellence- Led multiple cross company initiatives targeted at improving testers and test tools across Microsoft- Responsible for coordinating training program for all testers at Microsoft- Chief of staff for Microsoft Test Leadership teamApril 2005 to 2007: Test Architect, Engineering Excellence- Responsible for development and delivery of technical training- Involved in several cross-company initiatives, including addressing career path for Senior SDETs

- Owner of test strategy for Windows CE and engineering improvements for CE Test- Established external test community around Windows CE. This includes ongoing newsgroup support for test related issues, and creating a Microsoft hosted “Windows CE Test Fest” with presentations on CE test tools for CE customers.- Provide technical leadership to Test Managers of Windows CE and Mobile Devices

- Led team of 50 people responsible for testing Multimedia, Drivers, and Kernel of Windows CE.- Led team providing test tools and infrastructure teams for Windows CE

- Owned all development of the Windows Millenium debugger and the specialized debug build of Windows- Tested Video capture drivers (camera, tv tuner) on Windows 2000- Owned GDI, User, and International feature test development for Windows 98- Owned testing networking components in Far East versions of Windows 95

I started at Microsoft in January 1995 as a contract tester on the Windows 95 team - working primarily on networking features in Japanese, Chinese, and Korean versions of Windows 95.I continued this work after being hired full time in June of 1995 (just before Windows 95 shipped in the US, and approximately three months before shipping in Asia).
