-Scientific consulting company specializing in developing biosensors and microfluidics for point-of-care-diagnostic devices. Developed product solutions for multiple medical diagnostic companies, including Sensor-Kinesis Corporation (SKC), Toolbox Medical Innovations, Nexus DX, POC Medical, and MicrobeDX.-Help run the microfluidics team at Sensor Kinesis and worked to develop the SKC Optikus, a complete platform for detecting Troponin from whole blood using a surface acoustic wave biosensor integrated into a centrifugal microfluidic disc. Through module-by-module testing, targeted experimental design, and collaborative teamwork, presented a proof of concept device within 1 year. -Developed technologies that led to 6 different patents in two different companies (MicrobeDX and SKC).

-Developed a smart stem cell scaffold using the latest carbon microfabrication techniques (electrospinning, pyrolysis, lithography) for applications in neurodegenerative disorders. The device could simultaneously grow and stimulate stem cells and electrochemically sense cell metabolites. As a part of this project, set up a stem cell culture laboratory in the BioMEMS lab at UC Irvine and headed up new research directions for several graduate and undergraduate students in this field.-Led a collaborative project between researchers at UCI, UCLA, and a startup company, MicrobeDX, to develop an ultrafast antibiotic susceptibility test on a spinning microfluidic platform. In less than one year, not only fully automated and improved the performance of the test, but presented at over a dozen investor meetings, helping to raise more than three million dollars for the project. Also helped write and receive a prestigous CARB-X grant for over $8.9 million and a SURP grant for this project.

-Worked to design, fabricate, and test CD microfluidic devices for development of complex "lab-on-a-chip" assays. Headed the CD Microfluidics section of the BioMEMS lab. -Recieved three UROP and two SURP grants for research into the effects of hypergravity on C. elegans and effects of electromagnetic fields on neural stem cells.
