Project: Cloudera Azure Data Lake implementation.Role: Student 360, Research/Financials forecasting pipelines.Industry: Education.- The focus of the project was to standup an Azure Data Lake Platform and migrate existing and new use cases from the on-premise DwH to a Cloudera IaaS cloud based solution. - Created a Data Factory and Databricks based PoC to showcase and compare against the chosen Cloudera solution.. - Developed robust data pipelines to support analytical use cases whilst adhering to the clients data ingestion, curation, provisioning, governance and data consumption principles.- Refine and mature existing use case requirements with the head of research finance and formalise acceptance criteria.- Ingest finance entities into HDFS utilising a file based and Sqoop/API call approach. The existing finance DWH ingest was remodelled with a 10x performance improvement.- Utilised Talend for workflow management; Impala SQL, Pyspark for transformation (Spark).- Utilised Hive/Impala and Kudu for staging and data output (research and finance data marts).- Worked with the Data scientist to design the Student 360 use case. This included identifying source entities, transformations, technology architecture and output ABT structure.- Defined and developed a bespoke CDC approach within the data lake.- Undertook data modelling for the finance data mart entities.- Created an automated reconciliation template to reconcile data at attribute and total count levels. Also reconciled data after loading in Power BI.- Attended weekly technical design authority sessions.- Other technologies used: Python, PySpark, Hue, Cloudera Manager, Cloudera Navigator.
