Driven by our mission to enrich and empower through musical experiences, we began partnering in 2012 with the Lawrence Public Schools to provide music programming, such as Middle School Band, Orff Schulwerk and percussion ensembles, and private lessons for high school band students.

A focus on justice and liberatory practices. In this role, he oversees a portfolio of research, documentation, and learning projects, as well as co-leads the Creative Generation Summer Residency Program.Here he amplifying the work of young creatives by producing new and honoring existing forms of knowledge and ways of knowing while dismantling systemic barriers to sharing and learning; and expanding definitions of and pathways to leadership, through unique learning communities. The work focuses on the application of justice and liberatory approaches and harnesses deep expertise in democratizing knowledge, documenting promising practices, and developing meaningful learning experiences to skillfully translate complex topics into knowledge products to enable field-building.

In addition to the role of the program coordinator: Lead internal listening sessions to get a pulse on programming within the organization, afterwhich a presentation on the analysis and 13 recommendations were provided to staffCo-lead 3 town halls with arts administrators, artists, and arts supporters to be responsive to our communities changing needs in regarding programming. In total, we met over 60 of you face-to-face, and 59 responses were gathered across public, artist, organization, and board surveys. Afterwhich, a series of analysis was conducted. Hired artist outreach coordinator Crafted a 60+ page programming plan informed from the interactions at the Arts Council and beyond where important nuggets of wisdom emerged to inform the new era of programming, answering the question: How can our programming operate as mutually beneficial experiences where everyone walks away feeling good? Using the remaining document one can dig deeper into the lessons learned, timelines and procedures that are fundamental to understanding the role of programming.
