I was nominated for this award by my administration and colleagues for my leadership and teaching abilities.Led Student Council in order to enhance leadership skills of students to give tours, lead fundraisers, and provide any sort of student support to administration that was needed. This group met once a week, in addition to any school function, to discuss leadership qualities, talk through what leadership looked like and set their own personal goals as well as how they want to see improvements at our school.Nominated to work on our district's Calendar Committee and Insurance Committee to make decisions for the whole district regarding the calendar and insurance policies that were being offered. The team was made up of District Leaders, parents, and teachers/staff.

Led a hybrid environment where 50% of the students were online and 50% were in person. Managed Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) for each student’s targeted goals and planned instruction to teach and assess the goals.Built and cultivated strong connections with families and students through online platforms as well as in person meetings and hosting activities. Kept track of multiple pieces of data to analyze then report out to parents, students, and administration in friendly language that was easy for all to understand the progress of the student.Collaboration was a huge piece of this job. My students were spread out amongst 7 General Education teachers with whom I was in contact with about their progress, as well as to make sure we were on the same page regarding standards and pacing guides.

Helped the school district open up their 12th Elementary School with other teachers and staff. Was chosen after interviewing with administration to serve on the Second Grade team.Worked on our buildings Leadership Team, which gave me the opportunity to make decisions regarding our mission, vision, and value statements. It also allowed me to be a liaison between my team and the administration to share information as well as concerns and problem solve those with building leaders.Led Mathletics Team for students who are interested in strengthening their math problem solving abilities and competing against other teams throughout the district. This team met once a week to go over strategies for solving different problems, as well as work on team building skills. My role in facilitating this club was about planning each session based on how the team had done at the previous competition or practice and putting teams together based on strengths.

Each of us came with an outline where we would collaborate to look at data, analyze student work in order to create differentiated, flexible groupings.Worked with curriculum coaches and district administration to work on curriculum plans as well as assessment methods that would work for students to monitor progress and make decisions on where to go next as well as reflect back on what to do differently next time.
