After years of hospitality experience, I leaned into volunteering and found the Not-For-Profit sector. Confidently, I have learned about communicative and connective teamwork through leading by example.I run an environmental NFP in Vancouver, BC focused on plastic waste. Our current focus is cigarette butt litter and the toxins leached due to this damaging micro-plastic. At the grassroots level, we host park and street clean ups. At the administrative level, we advise and provide solutions to businesses, city representatives, and our own personal communities. I take part in green city initiatives and harm reduction outreaches in my spare time through volunteering. I have always found a great sense of purpose in making things easier for those around me.
