Ixia, SPIRENT, you name it and we had it. I had built up a 300Gbps demo to showcase our DDoS Solution. Recreated and figured out a critical high CPU issue for a million dollar customer. Held many demo for those customers eager to see a performance demo.Another highlights of this role was to prepare and held Brainshare training sessions on multiple topics. I enjoyed that a lot. You need to deeply understand the topic before you train others and in my mind, it is the best way to motivate someone to learn more. I remembered each of every topics I had trained the worldwide SEs: HTTP2, GSLB, Health Monitor, DNS DDoS Mitigation and DDoS Authentications. I also created training material and hands on material for various topics as well. Show less

It is like solving puzzles all day long and once you figured it out, it was always an AHA! moment. Sometimes the root cause is right there in bold if you know where to look. Sometime the challenge could be so difficult it could take weeks or longer but this makes it more special once you found out the root cause. The keyword here is to be able to recreate. Almost all issues could get resolved once you can consistently recreate the issue. The most difficult ones are those timing or "race condition" issues.I have cracked many key escalation issues for major accounts. The last case was also the most difficult one as it was a system level issue and I kept working on it for another week after I moved to my next role until I could finally recreate it (and happily to report it was fixed later). But the most satisfactory rewards was gift cards from customers. I still kept one of the USD $20 Starbucks gift card.I mean customers do not need to do that, you must have done something right to earn it! Show less

Sure grew a lot during these 5 years! If possible, everyone should become a Field engineer or at least joined the sales team once to see how they work.I had the privilege of being shouted out on the phone by a CEO (company went public later for a huge success) while frantically trying to downgrade a bad release remotely. But much more satisfactory and happy experience to have successfully deployed our solution after many all-nighters for many key projects. I sure travelled a lot then!It is always a special feeling when you could put something online that helped customers or consumers and I am proud of my achievements. The most difficult projects? Try to replace a competitors' solution in a short time and convert thousands of their config commands to yours! Show less
