Routing to and within the data center core was accomplished using OSPF, eBGP, iBGP with clustered route reflectors. A multi-vdc Nexus deployment provided ingress/egress route control points within each data center. An Active/Active data center strategy was envisioned and deployed leveraging a mixture of Network and Application Centric ACI and unicast OTV for data center load sharing over redundant 30Gbps diverse path backbones. Developed a Python and Ansible based application deployment model capable of deploying multi-tiered, multi-contract ACI based applications in one step. The application deployment model has reduced deployment time from 35+ minutes to under 3 minutes.Transformed the Northside Hospital WAN from a mixture of ATT L2 switched Ethernet, P2P, Virtual Packet Ring and SONET to a POP diversified MPLS eBGP based WAN. Championed the Citrix NetScaler SD-WAN initiative at Northside Hospital to lower overall hardware and WAN costs for our 150+ remote clinical offices while also providing multiple diverse paths and increased bandwidth and quality of experience. Remote office hardware costs were reduced by 300% and WAN connectivity costs reduced in some case by over 500-600%. This reduction in cost realized an R.O.I of just over 7 months and in many cases as low as 4-5 months when replacing Metro-E circuits.

The role requires an expert knowledge of L2/L3 LAN and Multi-carrier WAN design, transport and troubleshooting in order to effectively deploy the technology. These customer activities require an expert and in-depth knowledge of today’s most pervasive routing protocols such as eBGP, iBGP, OSPF and EIGRP. Typical customer activities included but were not limited to Data Center core and multi-carrier WAN edge re-design and deployment, Branch office WAN re design and deployment. The role requires extreme agility in order to adapt to ever changing customer environments on a day-to-day and even hour-to-hour basis. Project management was key in order to maintain order across multiple customer design and install activities.

Network Architect and Senior Manager of the global voice and data group tasked with managing a multi-continent, multi-cultural group of Network and Voice engineers. Additionally tasked with the consolidation and restructuring of the CEB data centers, researching and designing future high performance network infrastructures, and the design and support for all global remote office communication systems.Developed and deployed a global network infrastructure for the CEB virtual private cloud with two data centers in the US, two UK data centers, as well as data centers in both Australia and China. The virtual private cloud data center infrastructure was based on Nexus 7009 and 7004 Multi-VDC core platforms, Nexus 56128, 5596, 5548, and 2200 access platforms and ASR1001 and 1002X WAN platforms. All data centers were interconnected via eBGP and iBGP using a global gigabit backbone with a multi-carrier MPLS edge infrastructure providing the utmost redundancy. The private cloud was built to accommodate and scale with multiple VBlock 700 and 300 series back end platforms. Each data center was deployed and operational in less than seven days, and in one case three days.Developed a standard CEB remote office template using Cisco2900 WAN Routers and Voice Gateways, Catalyst 3850 and Meraki cloud managed WAPs to ease deployments at remote site where adequate engineering availability may not be present. Removed all server, storage and security related hardware from the remote office by virtualizing all devices onto a Riverbed Steelhead Fusion solution reducing the overall remote office deployment cost by over 40K.Championed the consolidating of networking monitoring tool from a mix of various tools down to three core tools; Riverbed Cascade Profiler and SteelCentral Transaction Expert for single pane of glass NetFlow and transaction analysis as well as StatSeeker and Orion for interface and device monitoring.

• Sr. member of the Publix Enterprise Network routing and switching team located at one of the companies two privately owned, tier IV data center located in Alpharetta Georgia and Lakeland Florida.• Deployed 8 NEXUS 7010s at distribution and core in order to provide 40Gpbs network fabric from WAN Distribution to Core down to Access layer switches. • Sr. Member of the Publix Enterprise Network Firewall team responsible for the deployment and maintenance of Checkpoint firewalls throughout the enterprise. Firewalls were a mix of Nokia, Checkpoint and Checkpoint VSX platforms.• Migrated all application VIP(100+) from F5 LTM hardware to Cisco ACE in order to utilize Route Health Injection(RHI) to ease in moving application VIPs during a DR scenario.• Designed Cisco ACE based solution with over 100 ACE contexts in total using ACE20/ACE30 and 4710s to provide application load balancing, compression and SSL termination. • Planned and in process executing upgrades from ACE20 to ACE30 modules to provide a zero downtime upgrade for all application contexts. • Responsibilities included designing and documenting solutions to meet the needs of the organization. • Maintaining the routing stability of the Publix enterprise using EIGRP, OSPF, RIP and BGP. Routing tables were in excess of 4500 routes at any given time at the data center WAN edge.• Designed and tested several Cisco Performance Routing scenarios to provide dynamice edge routing from multiple data centers at Cisco’s Customer Proof of Concept(CPOC) labs in Raleigh N.C.• Evaluate backup network connectivity solutions for the 1100+ retail location throughout Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Alabama using VSAT technology in order to migrate away from ISDN.• Evaluation of several technologies to provide continuous data packet capture at each data center in order to provide the replay of application and network related issue in order to determine root cause.

• Sole engineer tasked with configuring and maintaining all F5 LTM 6400, 3400 and 1500’s throughout the Citizens Property Insurance enterprise• Upkeep of the company’s core network infrastructure consisting of Cisco 7206, 1700, 1800, 2600, 2800 series routes, Cisco 6504, 6509, 3550, 3750 and 3900 series Catalyst switches.• Designed highly redundant links to a third party insurance facility using HSRP and stateful NAT. Weighted static routes were used to control access from various locations within the enterprise.• Lead engineer on WAN optimization for emergency operations satellite trailers to improve remote access to the company’s various policy management systems.• Network and Systems Architect for Citizens Property Insurance policy management system relocation from a hosted facility with IBM Global Service to an in-house data center. The migration consisted of over 20 supporting servers, 20 clustered IBM Websphere application servers, 4 Cisco 6504 w/SP720, 4 F5 LTM6400, 12 Nokia IP 560 Firewalls, and 12 plus Cisco 3750 switches. The migration was completed in 8 months. Solely responsible for product evaluation, selection and deployment.• Lead Architect for the redesign of company's test and development network infrastructure. This platform is used to test all policy management and supporting application in a scaled version of the production environment. The deployment consisted of Cisco 3750's, Nokia IP290's, and F5 LTM 3400's.• Lead Architect of the company's original test development network for their policy management system. The environment consisted of 30+ Windows 2003 servers running Lotus Domino and IBM Websphere, Cisco 3750's, Nortel Alteon 2208 and AD4's, Nortel SSL ISD SSL off-loader, and PIX 515 firewalls. • Deployed Riverbed Steelhead appliances to improve CIFS and MAPI traffic on WAN links between facilities.
