A4A Art for Architecture Ltd create sculpture artwork in a variety of scales, colossal, heroic, domestic, on public and private commissions, producing our own designs or rising readily to the challenge of a client’s design brief. Our smaller works using the human form seek to achieve balance, sensitivity and quietude for the observer to contemplate, aiming to pacify the senses in an increasingly demanding social environment. Our lead artist, John McKenna was originally trained in a strict traditional academic figurative discipline under the auspices of Dame Elizabeth Frink and always prefers to create sculpture modelled with observed naturalism and empathy with the subject, whilst imbuing dynamic creativity.We create all sorts of artworks from cast bronze portrait statues, to colossal stainless steel figures, unique bespoke structural artworks down to smaller sculptural awards and statuettes. We have our own studio bronze foundry where we cast our own over life-size statues and also a metal workshop to make large fabricated artworks, upto 13 metres high.A4A Art for Architecture have extensive working experience and practical design sense to undertake large-scale public art projects drawing on nearly twenty years of sculpture experience. This cumulative mass of experience over the years and genuine creativity has enabled us to resolve many artworks leaving as many delighted collectors, clients and the public to enjoy our work for generations to come.Specialties: We specialize in creating contemporary unique and site specific public artworks, working to our own design or a clients brief. We tend to create figrative artworks which are popular with our clients and the general public at large. We can undertake community workshops to resolve artworks and public consultations to generate design solutions, working alongside other design professionals. Our primary materials for making sculpture are durable and vandal resistant, bronze, steel and cast materials.
