Jason Sofianos is a Human Resources Assistant at Los Angeles City College. He possess expertise in editing, public speaking, powerpoint, microsoft office, student affairs and 45 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "Jason is to say the least, one of the best. He was great to work with. If I am honest, there was never a task that I gave him that he could not perform. When I was chairperson of the Department of English/ESL at LA City College, the fact that we were moving during the entire time of my term does not show on his resume or mine. He supervised students, managed faculty issues, and handles thousands of students' issues which comprised the large size of the department. It is difficult to encapsulate the skill set of someone like Jason because he can do so much. He was much more to me than my secretary. I was able to rely on him for advice on educational matters and the issues that the college dealt with. Any leader has to rely on his/her support staff. It is the support staff that can make or break his/her leadership. Jason's performance was excellent. He would help with inter-office correspondence and that may seem simple, but we had to correspond on a good day to hundreds of recipients and most days to thousands of recipients. he did so with a temperament that was unmatched. No one ever discusses how the personal contact with students shows your character. Jason never became upset when students were at odds with class cancellations or changes. He is very patient and kind. This is also a quality that you cannot see on a resume. When we had scheduling issues and updates for students, he was the first to develop a system that allowed students the ability to know of the changes. Jason prepared programs for our scholarship award ceremonies, and other district functions. He did so with excellence.
