Acts as Outside General Counsel for multiple Regional Centers (non-profit for public benefit corporations contracted by the Departmentof Developmental Services) with annual budgets exceeding $3 billion. Supervised litigation by outside counsel as well as directly represented regional centers throughout the State of California in Administrative Hearings and in the Superior Court in Mental Health, Criminal, Civil, Dependency, and Writs and Receivers Departments and in the California Court of Appeal. Advised corporate boards and executive teams on complex state and federal regulartory matters. Drafted and revised Corporate Bylaws, drafted and revised vendor contracts and HIPAA compliance agreements. Performed investigations and responses to Whistleblower and other statutory complaints. Additionally, performed all aspects of family law litigation including: Preparing and arguing Motions, Orders to Show Cause, and Requests for Orders, arguing multi-day evidentiary hearings, conducting settlement conferences, drafting legal memoranda, performing client intake interviews.
