• Individual, Group, and Classroom Guidance Counselling • Providing a confidential counseling service for students, their parents and staff as required, while adhering to mandatory notification principles of the school.• Providing advice on appropriate referral options for students identified as needingadditional testing or support• Supporting students in crisis• Using professional judgement in communicating relevant information and issues to Heads of School, Heads of various Departments and teaching staff.• Working with the Health and Personal Development Committee on the development of appropriate Social Education programs for students

• Individual, Group, and Classroom Guidance Counselling • Counsel students in grades K through 8, using solution-focused and person-centered approaches, to address issues such as academic performance, social skills, and self-esteem.• Advise and assist numerous students in short-term crisis situations such as bullying, friendship issues, conflict resolution, and classroom behaviour issues.

• Facilitated students in achieving personal fulfillment by providing guidance and counseling services to make successful educational, personal, and occupational life plans• Worked closely with parents, teachers, and students to evaluate: academic skills, learning aptitudes, social skills, self-help skills, personality and emotional development, eligibility for special service programs for learning disabled.• Formulating strategies that can be implemented by teachers to deal with behavioural concerns seen in classroom settings• Conducting parental counselling and family counselling sessions (parent/s along with child/children) within the school premises• Creating enrichment plans for students and helping parents and teachers in planning future course of action.• Facilitated educational workshops for parents on Positive Parenting, Understanding Emotional Needs of the child and Effective Communication. • Identifying and assessing children with Learning Disability, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other emotional and behavioural concerns• Networking with other paraprofessionals - Occupational and Physiotherapists, Special Educators, Psychiatrists etc.
