With 16 years banking experience, began his career with Chemical Bank Finance as Executive Director and Head of the Porto office, became responsible for the investment banking activities of the second largest Portuguese banking group.Extensive experience in the execution and coordination of Corporate Finance and Capital Markets transactions, both local and cross-border.Associate of Chemical Bank New York until 1996, and graduated from several internal management training programs in London.In March 1999, was part of the management team responsible for launching a new retail, corporate, and investment bank called Banco de Investimento Global (BiG), where he also was a shareholder.Within the Management Committee, assumed responsibility for all bank activities, corporate and retail, in the northern part of the country, and held board-level responsibilities in the areas of Asset Management, Proprietary Investment, and Private Equity.In January 2008, left BiG to become an Independent Financial Services Professional, and has since been involved in several Corporate Finance, Asset Management, and Private Equity transactions, namely a build-up project which took the market leader position in the Portuguese healthcare diagnostics services sector.In October 2017, sold Base Holding and Base M. Both companies became part of a global medical diagnostic project led by Apax Partners LLP.Since then, has engaged in several Advisory positions and projects, Real Estate investments, and Seed and Private Equity investments, both domestically and abroad.
