About Alyssa A. Kamara

As a Public Health, Economics, and Sustainability student at University at Albany, my research interests lie at the intersection of health equity, environmental justice, and policy solutions. I am passionate about addressing environment-related racial and economic disparities through community-driven interventions and policies that promote health equity.My long-term goal is to pursue a PhD in Public Health or a related field, where I can further investigate the ways in which policy solutions can be used to advance health equity and environmental justice. I am particularly interested in exploring the intersections of race, class, and gender in health disparities and developing community-based interventions and policies that address these disparities.My skills include mixed-methods research, data visualization, policy review, and geospatial technologies. I am the recipient of several awards and honors, including the CURCE Research Award, Dr. Seth Spellman Jr. Award for Academic Achievement, and Yoonhee Yoshi Kim Memorial Scholarship for QTPOC activism.
