Fireside Ventures is an early stage Venture Capital Fund which is leading the Digital-First Consumer Brand story in India. My internship was extended to 4 months during which I experienced from close quarters a paradigm shift in the business world (COVID induced). My responsibilities included: 1. Direct to Consumer (D2C) Benchmarking across portfolio companies: – Collated and analyzed various metrics across the entire digital marketing funnel for portfolio companies to identify the areas of improvement for each company. – Created category specific metrics, which can be used by the companies to benchmark themselves.2. Investment Thesis: – Helped build out an investment thesis for “Immunity” based products. Identified the relevant trends, product claims and profiled interesting start-ups in this space, both domestic and international.3. Deal Diligence: – For a deal in progress, helped do customer research and data mining to identify the key reasons for purchase by the consumers and their reasons for shifting from other brands to the target. 4. Scoping performance marketing agencies:– Helped in identifying and vetting new marketing agencies, which can be used by portfolio companies. Did an analysis to identify differentiation between various agencies and recommended agencies for specific needs of portfolio companies.5. New Product Development Pipeline– Helped analyze latent opportunities and expand the product range for a portfolio company seeing exponential growth. - Analyzed product features of competitor apps and gave recommendation on features to be included in the app to be launched.
