Assisting Professor Alexander Haitos in his course'American Philosophy' for undergraduate students at Ashoka from diverse backgrounds. In the course, we explored one of the rich strands in the diverse American philosophical tradition. Taking Ralph Waldo Emerson as our point of departure, we shall survey the thought of Charles Sanders Peirce, William James, Alfred North Whitehead, John Dewey, Jane Addams, and W.E.B. Du Bois. Work included managing course logistics, conducting office hours and participating in enriching conversations in classroom.

I assisted Professor Aparna Vaidik in her course on the History of Colonial Cultures where I have learnt something about this relationship amongst culture, philosophy and society. The questions of race, gender, notions of beauty and imagery in a larger paradigm of colonialism especially Hollywood movies on Tarzan, Stanley etc was an important part of American life. The Harlem Renaissance and the works of W.E.B Du Bois and reconfiguration of race literature and African imagery was a major area of interest in Professor Vaidik's course. The course work included attending classes, grading and conducting reading sessions for students from 2nd, 3rd and 4th year undergraduate class as well as PhD students in History. Catering to diverse class with different academic backgrounds was a fascinating experience.
