ALBERTO ALCALDE HERRERAAlberto Alcalde Herrera was born in 1966 in Santiago, Chile. Accepted to the bar in 1993. He holds a LL.M. from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (Santiago, 1998) and has taken courses in economics and finance at the School of Economics of the University of Chile (1993) and in Community Law at the Academy of European Law in Trier (February 2006) and Northwestern Securities Law Institute in 2012.Accepted as a partner in PUGA ORTIZ in 2001. He practices corporate and economic law, with particular emphasis on the securities and financial markets and real estate project development. He have experience in Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions and commercial litigation as well.He is also an arbitrator for the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce.He is member of the Chilean Bar Association and the International Bar Association, where he is on the Capital Market Committee. He is an associate member of the American Bar Association (ABA). In the ABA, he is Vice-President of the International Financial Products and Services and International Securities & Capital Markets Committees and member of the Steering Committee of the Latin American & Caribbean and Pro-Bono Committees, as well as Chile’s representative in the International Section of Law of the ABA. He has been a professor of civil law, competition law and economic law. He taught this latter course at Gabriela Mistral University through 2012.
