As an integral member of the Special Education leadership team, I work to provide sound educational programs for students with disabilities and support the programming and development of sped programs of 4 schools. I consult school staff and parents to implement individualized educational plans for students, and consult/collaborate with school administrators to observe, mentor and assist Education Specialists in the development and implementation of high-quality instruction practices. Additionally, I create opportunities and feedback to increase case management skills, compliance, progress evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration, through one on one meetings, team and department meetings, as well as professional developments. I work with other management personnel to develop and/or change District policies and procedures for staff hiring and development, maintenance of complaints, high-quality instructional programs, and effective support services in Special Education. I ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, state and SELPA reporting requirements, and KIPP's own policies and procedures. My success in this role was in part due to being a results-oriented team player with excellent organizational, planning, and implementation skills, being able to manage ambiguities and multiple priorities within an entrepreneurial environment, and the ability to communicate and work well with others to build relationships with multiple constituencies.

Regularly met with the Teacher resident, observed and provided feedback with the alignment of Alder's coaching cycle, which includes evaluation in alignment with California's Teaching Performance Expectations. Communicated with resident, mentor, partner director, and regional managing clinical director to ensure the resident was on track to complete the program successfully.
