1884 Line Company is a Kiewit-affiliated company that is working on upgrading over 5000 miles of power distribution lines for Pacific Corp, an electric power company in western US operating one of the largest privately held transmission systems in the US. My roles and responsibilities include the following:- Develop complete understanding of project contract plans and specifications- Manage and support the project team including direct reports and others as needed- Prepare subcontract RFPs, then review and prepare subcontracts- Manage subcontractors, including scheduling, safety, quality and compliance with the prime contract - Inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies and cost saving measures- Inspect field engineers work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain corrective actions needed- Prepare monthly cost projections using information generated from the project management systems and prepare quarterly cash flow projections- Help drive the company's environmental health and safety programs at the project level

Working as a planning engineer in the Manh Choh Gold Mining contract in Tok, Alaska. My tasks include the following:- Track mined materials quantities, bench location and dump destination- Prepare daily cost and quantity reports- Prepare surface design files for use on the execrators, dozers, drills and other mining equipment via the mine management software Minestar- Write up work plans for mine operations, construction projects and site services - Carry surveying activities, using Trimble Rovers, to layout drill holes, bench and dump outlines- Conduct visual surveying using a drone and survey software to document the progress of the mining operations

Trans Mountain Pipeline Remote Mainline Block Valve Facilities:- Worked as the Burnaby office Lead Planner for 87 Block Valve Facilities on the Trans Mountain Pipeline across 1,200 km from Edmonton to Burnaby- Lead the QC Turnover program with the area managers and superintendents

Working on a variety of construction projects in Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island. I worked closely with client representatives, consultants, site superintendents and subcontractors on successfully completing the following projects:- A 5 story wood frame condo building with a concrete underground parkade providing 85 condo units- A 7,500 sq ft daycare centre for a non-profit organization

Working on a variety of construction projects in Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island. I worked closely with the project manager and site superintendent on successfully completing the following projects:- Two 5 story wood frame, multi-use buildings with an underground parkade and concrete main floor Commercial Retail Units (CRU). The two buildings provided 150 rental units to much needed market in Greater Victoria- A 5 story wood frame condo building with a concrete underground parkade providing 80 condo units- An 11,000 sq ft roof assembly and 900 sq ft skylight structure replacement for a university building on Vancouver Island. This challenging project required engineering and coordination ensuring the building is watertight throughout the replacement process. My main tasks are the following:- Meet with Owners and Design Professionals on a regular basis to discuss status of projects, determine client satisfaction and take immediate action to respond to problems and concerns- Visit project work sites, clarify scope of work, and prepare cost estimates and proposals- Evaluate projects for construct-ability and value-engineer cost savings- Establish, monitor, communicate and maintain project schedules utilizing contemporary scheduling software- Develop and implement strategies to self-perform and to outsource the various aspects of a project to achieve the projects objectives of price, schedule and quality

Assist Campus Sustainability Coordinators in campus transportation projects and acquiring Fairtrade Campus Designation as well as organizing various sustainability events. • Research Transportation Demand Management strategies by contacting other Canadian universities then compiling different options in a spreadsheet for review by the UVic Director of Campus Planning and Sustainability • Design posters using online tools to advertise for events on-campus such as bike repair workshops• Conduct traffic counts on intersections in UVic campus for the Campus Cycling Plan then enter data in MS Excel• Collaborate with transportation consultants from Urban Systems to compile traffic counts data• Carry on-campus face-to-face surveys and consultations with students, faculty and staff about the UVic Campus Cycling Plan• Prepare the Fairtrade Campus Designation application by completing the applications, compile a spreadsheet of Fairtrade products available in on-campus cafes and stores
