About Abdullah-Al Mamun
My current research is focused on modeling and control vehicle emission after-treatment system and optimal design and management of energy storage in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). A significant portion of my work deals with physics-based Three-way Catalytic Converter (TWCC) modeling and control, modeling of hybrid powertrain and energy storage systems, optimal sizing and energy management of hybrid energy storage systems (HESS) in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). My doctoral research focuses towards battery health-conscious control for optimal energy management in large-scale datacenters. That research deals with modeling of dynamic systems, handling uncertainties using stochastic dynamic programming and identification of unknown plant parameters using different filters.Technical Skills:• Three years of experience in battery modelling and control for optimal energy management.• Experience in estimation and control of renewable power generation. • Experience in battery characterization and performance validation experiments. • Familiar with vehicle dynamics and advanced vehicle powertrains (HEVs, PHEVs, and EVs).• Two years of experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and machining processes.• Three years of experience in teaching undergraduate engineering students.Software skills:Programming and modeling software: C, C++, MATLAB/Simulink, Mathematica, OpenModelica, Dymola.FEA & CAD software: ANSYS, Fluent, ABAQUS, AutoCAD, Solid Works, CATIA.Areas of Interest:Electrochemical Battery Modeling, Battery Health Degradation Modelling, Battery Management System, Stochastic Control, Optimization of Energy Systems, Datacenter Power Management,Photovoltaic System Modelling, Parameter Estimation and Control.Software:MATLAB, Simulink, Open Modelica, Dymola, C/C++, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Abaqus.
