- Improving the plant productivity in continuous improvement projects.- Raise Change control and execute projects as identified and required by the user/production.- Project initiation Processes include Risk assessments, writing specifications, justifications-Ensuring new process equipment installations are completed in an efficient manner and within budgetary constraints.- Plan, oversee, and coordinate activities concerned with development, design, construction, modification of equipment, machinery, and facilities.- Assist in Mechanical completion & validation; Commissioning- Assist Project Engineer with planning, technical meetings, project documents and coordinate with contractor to make recommended changes. - Supervise commissioning of treatment unit and monitor progress according to project schedule and plan.- Receive Permit to Work and ensured that all engineering work is carried out in accordance with rules, regulations, SOP’s and other contractual requirements

Pipe Work (Process Piping, Utility Piping) Liaising with contractors /subcontractors regarding design, quality and site meetings.- Update and coordinate issuing of site drawings and resolve any technical problems that may arise at site during the installation, commissioning and maintenance of mechanical projects.- Update mechanical equipment, piping and drawing registers compiled for project deliverables data pack/QCP: drawings, mechanical equipment specification datasheet, material certificates, equipment performance/pressure test and mechanical installation inspection report and check list.- Perform pressure and leak testing, fix faults and verify integrity of piping system.- Control piping work during pre-commissioning: compare P&ID’s with As Build and submit reports and snag list.Building Electrical Installation- Assist during inspection of equipment wiring according to zoning requirements and South African standard requirements.- Ensuring that all ATEX certification for equipment is received.- Help contractors to verify designs with regards to zoning of relevant areas.- Assist with installations of earth connections, sockets and plugsInfrastructure and Building Work- Verify bracketing, anchors and torquing of entire installation with contractor.- Supervise floor work (epoxy and vinyl).- Assist contractors, place order for materials and report work progress.- Monitor work progression with contractors and verify safety and house keepingValidation and commissioning work- Perform site acceptance test - Installation and Operational qualification- Assist with DOP testing of HEPA filters and pressure testing - Assist plant engineer with new equipment purchase installation and commissioning

Compile standard operating procedures for preventative maintenance, performance monitoring and pre start up checks on new mechanical equipment.Register new equipment on MS SharePoint, engineering maintenance system (EMS) and load it on maintenance or calibration schedule.Generate asset number, print out job cards for planned maintenance, break downs and calibrations.Assist plant engineer with major engineering projects like new equipment commissioning.
