I am a control engineer with over 27 years of experience in devising both model and data-based algorithms for automotive engine control and fault diagnostics. The work relates to the #predictivemaintenance of internal combustion engines. The predictive-maintenance ensures proactive engine maintenance for enhanced reliability and safety.In my initial years, I devised idle speed control algorithms for the Ford Mondeo engine which were highly robust against load disturbances. Later on, I designed condition monitoring algorithms for high-powered diesel engines used in Caterpillar harvesters.Later on, my team devised successful predictive-maintenance algorithms to address the health of coolant subsystems, throttle, air filter, and engine manifold for a Honda Jazz model. All these algorithms were based on cost-effective OBDII devices.Currently, I am heading a team of four dynamic PhD engineers who devised very effective fault detection and isolation strategies.Lately, we have proposed a state of the art engine model to perform real time condition monitoring of internal combustion engines. We have used this model for torque ripple mitigation , load balancing, dynamic skipfire and NVH reduction.
