I manage a group of talented managers and developers working on solutions for Amazon Customer Support. My teams built a large scale distributed application used by Amazon Customer Support Associates to provide customer support - 100% on Aug 2, 2024.

Streamlined and migrated IT infrastructure and business applications to Cloud (Azure). Deprecated or transformed legacy applications. Architected, developed and deployed mobile application with associated Azure cloud infrastructure to deliver, pickup and maintain equipment (online hire business with focus on construction industry). Achieved +99% correctness in equipment and driver location data (loss minimized).

An opportunity presented itself to develop e-health system for medical patient records in Australia. Left Atos Australia & New Zealand to pursue it. Due to changes in legislation abandoned the project but learned valuable lessons on how to start and setup a new business from grounds up.Contracted to provide high-level strategy, software architect and technical project management services to various SMEs and government/defence organisations.

Led and built a world-class 150+ organization (engineering and product) that drove innovation and new ideas in transforming legacy enterprise applications to new frameworks and technology stacks (hybrid and cloud). Our aim was to offer the most scalable, secure (defence and law enforcement), and robust applications that can withstand varying operational environments (connected/disconnected, dependent services going down, etc.), enabling our customers to focus on the business.

Standardized on defined builder tools, automated build/test processes and adopted a hybrid (legacy/cloud) application development and deployment model (based on internal R&D direction and customer requirements). R&D centre for Evidence Management and Asset Management verticals.Ran a rolling 5-year R&D plan to develop new IP, modernize and transform enterprise applications and align technology direction. In partnership with Australian Federal Police, developed an Evidence Management portfolio. Expanded Asset Management and Product Lifecycle management into multiple verticals and developed vertical specific implementations. Architected and developed a solution for distributed, disconnected, long-running transactions/workflows for deployable assets (e.g., navy ships). Implemented it for Australian Navy and after successful operations for many years, implemented similar tailored solutions for other customers (e.g., NewZealand Navy, Mayasian Navy, Oman Navy, etc.). Worked with Defence and Strategic Technology Organisation (DSTO), part of Australian Defence, on a computer forensic IP. Took over the prototype from DSTO, succeeded in obtaining R&D Commercial Ready grant from Australian Government and launched the product. Won the iAward in recognition of outstanding R&D and IP development, 2008.Developed a customer service application portfolio for Australian communication and Media Authority to make the organization agile and adapt to rapidly changing legal, policy and government regulations.

Developed an Internet based solution for product cataloguing, sale and distribution, called Cataloguer. Cataloguer was a ready-to-go e-commerce website and development environment. Cataloguer was highly commended in the Best Web Development Product Category at Internet World, Darling Harbour, Aug 2-4,1999.

Aspect Computing and Computer Associates are jointly marketing Manufacturing and Resource Planning software, named Manman/X. It is an MRP-II production planning system and it also covers all the financial, sales and after sales support and maintenance. Because each organization have a variation in requirements, our team was responsible to tailor Manman/X according to their needs. The complete features of the Manman/X system can be obtained from either Aspect Computing or Computer Associates.

Norsk Data was a Norwegian company. As Manager Software at Norsk Data (ND) I was responsible for providing support to customers and accomplish Turn-Key software projects in a multi-user environment on Mini and Supermini computers. The responsibility included Requirement Analysis, Database Design and Software Development using DBMS, 4GLs, Fortran, Cobol and C++ Languages, Documentation, Implementation and End User Training. Management of IT infrastructure and development/roll out of software applications was carried out for various government organizations. Also worked as an application development consultant for government computer centers. While working at Norsk Data, as a collaboration between Industry and Education, delivered/taught database management systems and operating system courses at Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. Also supervised 2-3 masters students each year during their masters project/thesis.
