Started consulting career in 2000 as a founding team member of Start Consult, a boutique consulting firm set up by a leading private equity group and a former McKinsey consultant. I became a Partner in, and Director of, the firm in 2005.Involved in building the consulting team as well as the consulting practice of the firm. In the ten years at Start Consult, I led many advisory projects across a range of industries and client verticals including banks, multinationals, family groups, investment and private equity groups, start-ups etc.Involved in the establishment and operational rollout of Dun & Bradstreet in Middle East, Africa and Turkey. – a private equity initiative by Start Consult.

Led major major syndications and club deals where UNB was a lead / co lead underwriter. These included: - Project finance for Taweelah A-2 (one of the first IWPPs in the GCC - Project finance for Thuraya (the first regional satellite telephony operation) - First major corporate debt for Tabreed - Club deal for Abu Dhabi marina MallI also led the bank’s selective participation in secondary market syndications and represented the bank in the global restructuring of a sovereign debt.

Started my GCC career in 1995 with Mashreq Bank, - Responsible for establishing the Bank’s stand-alone credit risk management system - Led the turnaround of Qatar operations credit risk management from ‘high risk’ to ‘low risk’ - Assisted in establishing Qatar’s first bundled retail products - Involved in several special project initiatives, such as centralization etc.
