I am passionate about resolving complex commercial disputes, particular those with a cross-border aspect. More often than not complex cases turn on a few critical documents or facts, or a discrete legal principle. The challenge is to find the needle amongst the proverbial haystack.I practise as a barrister, Chartered Arbitrator and mediator. I have a general commercial litigation practice - particularly in corporations and construction law - in the superior courts in Australia. I also act as counsel or arbitrator in commercial arbitrations in Australia and the Asia-Pacific. Since 2023 I have been the lecturer and chief examiner of the intensive subject, “Arbitration of International Commercial Disputes” offered by Monash University in its postgraduate law program.I am a former President of the Australian branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and for many years have taught international commercial arbitration in its various Fellowship courses.I have published widely on arbitration and commercial law. Outside the law, my interests include yoga, gardening and opera.
