Hire, train, and supervise a staff of 12 writing evaluators and consultants, who score communication waiver exams and consult with students one-on-one on communication issues. Coordinate with other departments to provide input into writing across the curriculum. Advocate for the importance of communication within and outside the school. Administer the MBA communication waiver exam. Collaborate with technical support personnel to design, maintain, and support the online waiver exam and consultation interface.

Teach managerial communication for MBA students and business communication for BBA students. Design new courses to meet student and institutional needs. Develop course materials, including cases, in-class exercises, and evaluation forms to support class objectives. Served as Course Coordinator for LHC 250 (2006-2009), our required writing course for BBA sophomores. Designed objectives and unified course content. Communicated objectives, content, methods, and standards to instructors for all 13 sections. Consulted with instructors on classroom challenges and address student concerns.

Empowering people to do what they are called to do in living out their baptismal ministry is at the heart of my call. I want to deepen and enrich the ministry that we are all called to do as we work with God to create the kingdom here on earth. I want to be an agent of change in the church, to help people form Christian communities that go beyond just “going to church” on Sundays to “being the church” every day of the week. I want to help people move beyond fear and doubt and into the fullness of life that Christ promised. More than anything else, Jesus is quoted as saying, “Do not be afraid.” My own life experience suggests that this is much easier said than done, and as a priest, I want to help people embrace this message from Jesus and to walk through their fear and into a fuller, richer life. I believe everyone needs to know that they are beloved children of God, and my call includes working towards that in every way I can. Everyone needs to be blessed, everyone needs to be fed. I know that sounds like some idealistic sentiment. It’s hard to include everyone. It’s hard to find ways to have the difficult conversations necessary for honest, healthy, nurturing faith communities to grow. But it’s what I’m called to help bring about.

Handled all aspects of finance, including designing financial control systems, developing budgets, coordinating audits, and reporting to board of directors. Managed administration of a 12,000 square foot commercial building housing up to 20 different non-profit tenants, including lease renewal, pro forma calculation of rent schedules, and tenant relations. Worked on donor development, including implementing the kick-off event for a Friends Network of contributors, corresponding with donors, and assisting with major grant proposals. Planned events, including coordinating annual conferences with 200+ participants, chairing community-based planning task force, and engaging volunteer presenters. Recruited and coordinated a continuously changing pool of 10-15 volunteers to help with all aspects of administration, outreach, and programming.
