👋 Hello!I'm Angela, a UI/UX designer currently working at North Carolina State University, with expertise in packaging design. Right now, I work closely with cross-functional teams at the university to implement changes on the existing website and WordPress blocks. My responsibilities include reorganizing the atomic component library, revising outdated designs, and crafting new wireframes and prototypes that align with the brand style guidelines. Before this, I worked at in-house.com as a UI/UX designer, where I utilized Agile methodologies to enhance the product's Beta version 2. My responsibilities were similar to what I’m doing right now at NCSU.Before I started my career as a UI/UX designer, I spent three years as a packaging designer at Guy Conti Art and Design after graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Packaging Design. In this role, I created user-friendly packaging that complied with industry regulations regarding safety, sustainability, and environmental impact.While working in packaging design, I became interested in UX design after having conversations with former classmates. As I delved deeper into the subject, I recognized significant parallels between the two fields, including a focus on user needs, an eye for detail, branding, and visual design expertise, and the ability to collaborate efficiently with cross-functional teams. I enrolled in a part-time UI/UX boot camp with Designlab to transition from packaging design to UX design while also working on multiple UX-related freelance projects.
