As professor of Entrepreneurship & valorisation at tge University of Groningen, visiting distinguished professor of entrepreneurship at Thapar University, CEO of VentureLab International Holding bv and former dean Entrepreneurship at the University of Groningen I am broadly interested in research, teaching and business development support (as in our field lab in incubators and projects with companies & universities with innovation and/or business development needs). Especially in the knowledge based area business development needs development based on sound knowledge of business processes. After working >20 years at University of Twente, co-founding NIKOS (Netherlands Institute for Knowledge Intensive Entrepreneurship) to further accelerate entrepreneurship as engaged scholarship at the most entrepreneurial university of the Netherlands. Since 2013 part-time and since 1-1-2020 fully engaged as co-founder in the University Groningen Centre of Entrepreneurship (UGCE) project organization based on a board initiative to do the same in the classical university of Groningen. We contributed with the UGCE team to the students entrepreneurship competencies to teaching programmes spreading from business administration, health care programs, industrial engineering, Liberal Arts & Science, and several extra curricular courses and events, reaching 50 students in 2012 to 1000 in 2020.Furthermore to the business development in programs such as Venturelab North (now supported over 300 very early stage entrepreneurs) (pre-) incubator to accelerator programs. I like to work in a culture of "engaged scholaship" contributing to knowledge but in a relevant manner. After finishing my Msc public administration @ uni Twente and PhD at the University of Groningen I worked at Van Hall Institute teaching environmental management, Fugro as a dept.head/consultant on environmental management.
