TAMKIN is a self-care subscription box made for black men. Our product line ranges from haircare, skincare, beard care, and body care best fit to serve black men looking to improve their self-care routine. All our products are made with natural and organic ingredients and outsourced from black owned brands. Our mission is to educate black men on the importance of self-care and give them an outlet to implement these practices into their daily lives.

The main goal of this internship was to design social media creatives for an ad campaign to attract financial advisors. I was able to work with an artificial intelligence system to target specific audiences. There were a total of 2 different ad campaigns run on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. The internship ended with presenting the ad campaigns to the American Portfolios Board of Directors.

As part of the Virtual Enterprises International program I was the CFO of our virtual business, Imprint LLC. Our business sold paper products and necessary school supplies for students who did not have access to those resources. As CFO, I ran the accounting department to ensure we kept track of all money going in and out of the company. Being part of the program, our business won the HSBC Opportunity Fund for a free trip to New York to participate in the Youth Business Summit. We also won first place in the Booth Competition at the South Florida Trade show located at Nova University.

As part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in South Florida, I was able to be mentored by some of the Florida Panthers staff during my high school education. I had the pleasure of being mentored by the Head Financial Advisor and the Chief of Staff. We worked on spreadsheet skills, working with a team, leading a team, and so many other aspects of being a successful employee for a big organization like the Florida Panthers. This is where my professional career began.

During my time at Tommy Hilfiger I moved my way up from a "Sales Floor Associate" to a "Visual Team Leader." In this position I was granted the task of setting employee breaks, maintaining the daily floor plan, and leading the floor visual activities. Along with the leadership responsibilities, I also had to maintain the look of the sales floor, process transactions, and show exceptional customer service skills. Finally, I was granted the Employee of the Month Award for August of 2019, showing my ability to "Go the Extra Mile!"

This summer internship was done through the National Academy of Finance. Throughout this internship I was able to work in three different departments: Economic Development, Budgeting, and Accounting. In these three departments I put together extensive research, filled out balance sheets, and formulated easy-to-understand spreadsheets. Finding ways to connect the city and the people was a key aspect of this internship experience, along with creating a more efficient accounting system to keep track of all money going in and out of the city.
