About Anthony Arnone

At Janko Rasic Architects, we are a boutique architecture firm that offer design solutions that are sustainable, efficient, classic, and enduring. Through creative collaboration, we produce an imaginative, cost effective solution to achieve our client's goals. As an architectural designer, I collaborate directly with clients, coworkers, and consultants on an array of diverse projects. Of these projects I am involved in all phases of the design process, including but not limited to surveying, drafting and design, space planning, and project management. As a graduate of Philadelphia University, I obtained a degree in Architectural Studies with a concentration in Historic Preservation. As a student I was inspired by the historic precedents that have set the foundation for modern and contemporary design. This portfolio and selected works represent my skills in design, documentation, and adaptive reuse that I have completed while enrolled at Philadelphia University's College of Architecture and the Built Environment, as well as selected professional works. My objective is to obtain a position with a firm which will utilize my skills in architecture and interior design, building assessment, and my working knowledge of historic preservation principles.

As of summer 2013, I was given the opportunity to work for Christophe Pourny Ltd. as a member of his interior restoration crew. I participated in a 3 month project restoring the main lobby of 834 5th Ave. The following summer of 2014, was offered a full time summer position in the Brooklyn studio where I participated in a 3 month interior design project. My role was to finish prefabricated panels in straw marquetry to be installed in a private residence in Bratislava, Slovakia. In the summer of 2016, I returned to Christophe Pourny Ltd. finishing prefabricated panels in straw marquetry for the Salvatore Ferragamo flash-ship store in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I was part of an architectural design team, involved in designing the flood prevention and retention systems for a public housing project in lower Manhattan. The design's intent was to combat the destruction created by flood waters in the event of another "Super Storm" as demonstrated by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. My tasks involved generating general construction documents and producing digital and physical models for presentation and marketing.

Under the Fairmount Park Historic Preservation Trust, student interns from surrounding Philadelphia colleges and myself, worked as a team restoring a 19th Century High Victorian known as the "Thomas Mansion." As interns we experience proper restoration techniques used on interiors, without damaging or hindering the history. At the Fairmount Park Historic Preservation Trust I was responsible for daily on site or off site restoration projects. Daily tasks included the restoration of historic interiors, historic window glazing, painting of cultural sites, and miscellaneous restoration projects for the Fairmount Park properties.
