At 3D Anatomy Studios, I currently lead all major aspects of company operation including customer discovery, sales and marketing strategy, product design and development, accounting and finances, and web design and coding.I believe that a business that delivers true value to customers and partners depends on building genuine relationships with those customers and partners. To achieve that for 3D Anatomy Studios, I lead our customer discovery outreach, through which we have personally interacted with 50+ educators at the college level. I also lead our data analysis team where we use a variety of approaches to estimate market size/needs and use these data to formulate strategies. Having conducted dozens of interviews, I have learned how to listen and truly understand the greatest challenges and needs of our customers so that we can offer them solutions.To ensure that the solutions we develop solve real problems for our customers, I also lead the iterative design team at 3D Anatomy Studios. I lead our scanning and digitization efforts (using CT scanning and photogrammetry), our digital design (using Blender), and prototyping (using 3D printing). I check in regularly with our customers to solicit their feedback on prototypes and we revise our design based on their feedback. Much of our design work also involves content creation and I regularly create visual and written content relating to anatomy, design, and education that we share on our website, at conferences, and through social media.Through my experience with innovative projects, I have developed strong grant writing skills. For my PhD research on the eco-morphological evolution of waterfowl, I received an NSF graduate research fellowship (GRFP) and submitted an NSF preproposal (IOS). I received an NSF postdoctoral research fellowship (PRFB) for my postdoctoral research on the evolution and biomechanics of suction-feeding in fishes. And at 3D Anatomy Studios, I was the PI of an NSF SBIR Phase I proposal for innovating digital anatomy education that we submitted in 2022.
