Product design and development services. Provided design solutions, detailed 3D CAD modelling in Solidworks and Pro Engineer (Creo), technical production drawings to a high standard including GD&T and to AS1100, organising prototype construction and testing.Designed products to client specifications and relevant standards in industries including defence, mining, medical, water treatment, energy, automobile, agriculture, white goods, building and construction etc.Component designing in many types of plastics, alloys and carbon fibres, in a wide variety of production techniques including all types of rapid prototyping, precision machining, plastic injection moulding, die casting, investment casting, sintering, welded structures and sheetmetal.

Boart Longyear are designers and manufacturers of drill rigs for mineral exploration.In my position there I designed componentry of large mineral exploration truck mounted drill rigs, drill rod machinery, products to improve safety and efficiency of extracting core samples from drill rods.

Applidyne are design engineering consultants. In my position I was responsible for the detailed design of a large range of client products from initial concepts through to production to conform with client specified requirements and relevant industry standards. I produced many innovative and award winning design solutions, several with patent protection, also detailed 3D cad models in Pro Engineer and Inventor, technical production drawings, organised production and testing of prototypes.

APS Plastics are mechanical analysis engineering consultants.Performed moldflow simulation of plastic components and provided analysis detailing design changes to optimise quality by reducing warpage, shrinkage, gas traps and material cross-over in extrusions. Determined optimal gate and vent positions, cooling channel positions, runner system design, flow rates and packing phase to produce high quality plastic mouldings.

Guardmaster (now Rockwell Automation) are designers and manufacturers of industrial safety interlock switches.Whilst there I designed and developed a wide range of mechanical interlock safety switches for hazardous machinery. After designing these almost 20 years ago they are still amongst the most popular safety switch devices worldwide and are still market leaders. Many of my designs have patent protection.
