I started my career as a late night radio DJ for Magic 89.9 under the name, Josh Strike. The Strike Zone quickly became the top rated program for it's timeslot. At the same time, I began my career as a sports broadcaster in the UAAP on ABS-CBN. My first assignment was sideline reporting for Adamson University for two years. All of this while I was wrapping up my studies in De La Salle University, taking up Communication Arts. When I graduated, I became the youngest basketball commentator for the biggest collegiate league in the country at the time. I was able to continuously grow my radio show and learn from my mentors about the management side of the business.As I moved from ABS-CBN to TV5 in 2010, I was assigned to more and more broadcasts. This gave me me the opportunity to cover the likes of La Liga, English Premier League, the PBA, and more. With every broadcast added, I learned more from the on ground execution, to on air implementation, to production.After dabbing in it, I decided to expand my horizons. From there, I put up an events company called WeeDoo Productions where I was the Program Director and Social Media Content Head. This included a very successful party series called, Unleashed. We drew crowds of over 20,000 people on numerous occasions. I was able to learn more about training others, just like I hoped. As well as learning from those more experienced in the production scene.When my plate was getting too full, I decided to shift my attention to just one aspect of my career. My sports broadcasting. This is when I was given the chance to be the main anchor from SportsCenter Philippines on the TV5 Network.For two years, I was able to live the dream of sitting at the desk that made me want to pursue my dream. Being able to travel to Bristol, Connecticut to learn from the best of the best in all aspects of the job was something that I will never take for granted. Then, relaying the message to my staff in the local newsroom. Every night, I wrote, I edited, I learned. I worked harder at this point in my life than any other. Experiencing being a producer and create something out of nothing just to tell a story. Managing my staff of 20 writers, editors, producers, for the betterment of the show.Being blessed with countless opportunities has taught me a lot. From being on stage as the host for LeBron James or Kobe Bryant in their trips to Manila to the daily grind of mounting events and making sure everything runs smoothly. From a radio show to a TV program to online content. I'm excited to see where this leads me.
