The bitumen is blended down hole with naphtha to get 17 °API diluted extra heavy oil, separate the gas and water and transport the blend from San Diego de Cabrutica, 210 Km away to the upgrader plant at Jose. In this project I was the leader of the mechanical engineering discipline, for all the production facilities (upstream) of the project. I participated in all the phases of the project: Design Basis (Houston), Basic Engineering (Houston), Detail Engineering (Venezuela),Construction and Commissioning and Star Up. The cost of this project was 2,500 MMUS$
