As Executive Director I was responsible for the overall business development and management of the Company. My focus was the facilitation of strategic direction and business planning, development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, and leading the development of income earning opportunities.

Australian Theatre for Young People has been bridging the divide between young people and professional theatre practice since 1963. The national youth theatre company specialises in integrating professional theatre practice with supportive youth theatre process. We work with all levels of the arts industry, from the most celebrated artists, companies and venues to the smallest youth theatres and schools. As well as support from a number of Trusts and Foundations.Major Duties:• Responsible for Financial management – creating budgets, submissions and acquittals for funding authorities, income & expenditure control, financial systems, audits, maintenance of records and preparation of regular Board reports.• Oversee the company’s day-to-day operations, including the direct report of nine full-time and seven part time administrative staff. • Effectively manage the company’s resources: financial, staff, venue and equipment.• Liaise with funding bodies, sponsors, agents, and partner theatre companies.• Support the Artistic Director in the development and implementation of all programs and activities.• Manage fundraising and sponsorship campaigns in association with the Board.• Co-ordinate and service the Board and its committees and regular reporting to the Board.• Negotiate, and execute all contracts with all production personnel and agents of artistic property, including actors, designers, writers and other theatre companies.• Develop marketing plans in line with the company’s audience development goals. • Planning, Programming and management of production and performance schedules.

Bangarra Dance Theatre is Australia’s leading Indigenous performing arts organisation. The company fulfils a dual role of creative producer and cultural agent. Bangarra’s key objectives are to contribute to improving the lives of Indigenous Australians and to tell their stories through innovative world-class dance theatre. Presenting over 110 performances each year, Bangarra tours extensively to national, regional and remote centres across Australia and internationally.Bangarra Dance Theatre is one of the 28 companies that from the Australian Major Performing Arts Group.Major Duties:• Work with the Artistic Director to develop and schedule national and international touring program including representing the company at Performing Arts Markets.• Oversee the development of long term producing partnerships with venues and arts organisations (including contract negotiation, liaison and planning).• In collaboration with the Executive Director and Finance Manager develop Production, Touring and project budgets.• Assist in the development and implementation of the company strategic plan, & business plan.• Identify income-generating opportunities to support the artistic program including one-off corporate performances and special projects.• Facilitation of international touring opportunities, relationships and tour development.• Oversee all negotiations with artists, contractors, administrative and production staff.• Corporate governance (including organisation and records of board meetings).• Marketing, audience development and public relations.• Analyse financial reports prepared by the Financial Manager for presentation to the board.• Determine capital needs and expenditure, and provide the board with high-level advice.• Liaise with funding bodies as required, including the preparation of funding applications and acquittals, provision of statistical data, and attendance at networking opportunities.

As Production Manager I was responsible for planning and implementing all production requirements relating to the presentation and operation of Bangarra Dance Theatre performances. The role was also required to oversee and support the general well being of company while on tour including, the fourteen member dance ensemble, and support staff including, Technical Manager, Company Manager, Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, Head Mechanist, Head Electrician and AV Technician. Major Duties:• Develop project and core production budgets and schedules • Manage purchasing and ordering for Production department• Oversee the construction of sets; props & costumes to designers' specifications to budget• Formation of show’s technical documentation and distribution.• Liaise with national & international theatres regarding technical & staffing requirements.• In association with the General Manager, recruit and supervise all production staff.• Manage all national & international freight requirements.• Implement all site requirements for outdoor performances including remote access locations.• Document and archive all correspondence, designs, venue specifications and paperwork.• Communicate and enforce safety and building regulations including OH&S.• Develop and manage annual capital works budget.• Oversee safe storage and maintenance of Bangarra sets; props; costumes & equipmentKey achievements• Received APACA’s Drover Award “Touring Legend” on behalf of Bangarra Dance Theatre recognising excellence in national touring. • Managed the successful delivery of the production aspects of annual national touring requirements.• Managed the major venue relationships at Sydney Opera House and Arts Centre Melbourne • In 2008, managed and delivered an international tour to Paris, London, New York, Washington DC and Ottawa. • In 2009, managed a four-week international tour to the Movimentos Festival, in Wolfsburg, Germany, Budapest, St Poelten, Austria.

Barking Gecko Theatre Company is committed to building an internationally recognised, vigorous, bold and contemporary theatre company for young people. Major Duties:The Production Manager was primarily responsible for the successful production of sets, props and costumes for all of Barking Gecko performance programs. I was responsible for scheduling and coordinating rehearsals and performances, liaising with artists, venues and presenters regarding production details and facilitating good communication between the Artistic Director, Artistic Staff and Administration Key achievements• Managed three major national tours (The Cat who Ran, Rodeo Kid, Hidden Dragons)• In 2006, Responsible for Tour Management and liaison for an international tour of Hidden Dragons to Canada.• In 2006, supported the transition phase leading to the appointments of new Artistic Director and General Manager.

The AWESOME International Arts Festival for Bright Young Things is an annual 10-day showcase of amazing and exciting contemporary art from all over the world. Young people and their grown ups are invited to enjoy an extraordinary array of both free and ticketed film, animation, theatre, contemporary dance & music, sculpture, installation and new media in the Perth Cultural Centre.The primary role of the Production Manager was to focus on the technical operations of the company in order to achieve the Key Concept of Quality Control. This position will primarily oversee technical management, Operations and Logistics of Festival events including the sourcing and management of technical and FOH staff and the acquiring of technical equipment.Major Duties: Budgeting, Scheduling, Staffing, Contracting, Development of Policy and Procedures and Risk Assessment.
