Aaron joined Belvoir in early 2017 in the role of Deputy Executive Director role. He is now Belvoir's Executive Director.Previously he was the founding Executive Director of Co3 Australia, The Contemporary Dance Company of Western Australia. Aaron has extensive experience in the performing arts, as well as in community and cultural development; in particular, working with children and young people, emerging practitioners and Indigenous artists. He has a keen interest in developing strategic partnerships, online engagement, lobbying and advocacy.Aaron was General Manager of Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) for three years, having previously spent five years with leading Indigenous performing arts organisation, Bangarra Dance Theatre where he was responsible for managing the touring and performance programming.He has wide-ranging regional, national and international touring experience in both dance and theatre, including managing tours to Germany, Italy, China, the USA, Canada, Austria and Hungary. As an independent theatre producer, Aaron has produced work in Sydney and Perth.Aaron has been a board member of Walsh Bay Arts & Commerce, Broken Limb Theatre Company, Black Swan’s BSX Theatre and the Performing Arts Centre Society – Blue Room Theatre. In 2001 he was awarded an ArtsWA Young People and the Arts Professional Development Fellowship.He has a background in Production Management having worked with Barking Gecko Theatre Company, AWESOME Arts Festival, ANPC National Playwrights’ Conference, Deckchair Theatre, Rock Surfers Theatre Company, City of Perth New Year’s Eve Concert, and the Perth International Tattoo.Aaron was born in Perth, Western Australia and is a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) Production & Design – Stage Management course.
