I am a biologist with experience working in a laboratory setting and a passion for learning. I am dedicated to advancing my experience in micro and molecular biology and to teaching others what I know.I am a graduate of CSU Sacramento with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. I have about 2 years of experience working in a BSL-2 lab doing undergraduate research. In this lab I honed my basic laboratory skills like aseptic technique while also learning the ropes of technology like PCR. I worked in a team of 2 on gathering and testing environmental microbes from the American River with the goal of identifying and categorizing E. coli isolates for the American River Microbial Index. Before finishing my degree, I also spent about 2 years as a social worker for InAlliance. Though this job was not related to my field of choice, I learned valuable lessons about working in teams and personal accountability.I am dedicated and driven to further improve my laboratory skills with hopes to eventually pass on my knowledge to others interested in the micro and molecular biology field.
