As Fleet Manager:- In charge of monitoring and dispatching a fleet of over 70 trucks and drivers - Tracking the movement of expedited freight with company and third-party drivers- Working with new drivers to the company to provide support prior, during and after a trip- Assist in communications with priority customers (Canada Post, Purolator, UPS, etc.) to inform of delays and other situations- Communicating with shippers, consignees, and customs brokers in order to facilitate the movement of goods and to prevent delays along the supply chainAs Eastern Planner:- Responsible for assigning asset and 3PL carrier trucks to inbound and outbound freight from the eastern region (Quebec, Ontario, eastbound from Manitoba)- Communicating with planners across all regions in order to solve network challenges and achieve operational goals- Provide details of available equipment capabilities to sales/customer service department to maximize freight movement and customer satisfaction- Transition outstanding items to incoming planner, weekend staff, night dispatch; to convey critical information required to complete shared tasks- Required to multitask and manage stress in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high attention to detail
