Maintenance Millwright ForemanJacobs Aug 2009 - Mar 2016Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, CanadaWorked on the tools in the field and in the shop for 4 years then started running crews on some of the largest shutdowns in Dow Chemicals polyethylene business. Which has led to me running the Machine & Rebuild shop while also over seeing millwright maintenance in two operating plants. Experience is an abundance with gearboxes,compressors(reciprocating & centrifugal),pumps & blowers of many types, along with a large assortment of specialty equipment(NG fired powed generation & polyethylene manufacturing). I have planned & executed jobs from removal of this equipment to the rebuild in the shop to the installation in the field. Which has taught me not only great troubleshooting skills but also high attention to detail on overhaul & installation all while keeping safety #1. In my maintenance group (10 Millwright & 4 Machinists) I have built an incredibly reliable team with very high moral boasting the best way to succeed is thru team work and knowin when to stop and ask questions. When I took over this team rework and timely turnaround was an issue with the help from some fellow colleagues we managed to cut turnaround times and create a highly reliable team thru proper scheduling and on the floor education!

Part of my daily duties included walking the plant every morning identifying problems and entering orders. After maintenance orders were entered we would inform operations we were going to isolate the equipment and perform the repair. It was a production facility so downtime cost the company money so we had to be very efficient at performing repairs and pm's. I had left this job as there wasn't enough work to keep a guy busy for a while shift if 4on 4 off.
