Florin Square is home to close to 100 retailers, service industries, and nonprofit CBOs. We are home to the largest collaboration of black-owned businesses in Northern CA as well as a diverse group of business owners of color. Inside Florin Square is the SoJourner Truth Art Museum and the African Market place. As the destination for business, art, and resources in South Sacramento, we offer workshops and seminars that entertain, inspire, and inform our community.

EPR (Engagement, Productivity, Retention) We help business increase their profits, decrease turnovers, and maintain a climbing ROI on their most valuable assets - their employees. With our services, your organization will: a) be able to set clear employee-based KPIs and provide support through actionable Critical Success Factors; b) implement our EPR program designed to increase the level of engaged employees to 80% or above; c) Increase your employee productivity percentages to 80% or above.

Traveled to San Jose, Las Vegas and Sacramento campuses biweekly to assist with campus-community marketing and outreach; Organized and coordinated community resource services group meetings held on campus in each city; Established network of community and business partners. Organized field trips to Shriners Hospital and Molina Healthcare; Involved students in 2014 Affordable Care Act information and registration activities; Hosted monthly employer visits which included Kaiser, Hewlett Packard, UCDMC, Blue Shield, J&L Staffing, Molina Healthcare, and the County of Sacramento; Arranged annual State sponsored “How to Get a State Job” workshops on campus; Founded and coordinated International Food Fest and Holiday Food Fests on campus; Arranged for employers to be present at these events; Facilitated workshops at career centers, training centers, and other employment and community locations; Provided a steady stream of leads to the admissions staff for possible enrollment; Instrumental in amassing upwards of $150,000 through enrollments; Maintained intern programs with CVS and Coram; Began intern program with local medical billing organization; Invited students to attend off campus business and community events and provided networking and business etiquette training; Designed and printed business cards for students; Facilitated on campus employment and business workshops for students and guests; Served on the Health Committee of the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce; Helped arrange on campus communication class for students.

Have spoken before large and small audiences on Business Start-ups, Employee Development, and Business Planning throughout the United States; Mentored clients on one-on-one basis; Assisted with all phases of small business development; Taught business start-up classes for the Elk Grove Unified School District Adult Classes program; Facilitated business workshops for incarcerated youth at Stockton CYA; Taught classes at Sacramento City Unified, Twin Rivers, Elk Grove, and San Juan Unified School Districts; Implemented leadership workshops for several foster youth agencies and group homes; Hired, trained, and supervised twelve part-time employees; Handled payroll, sales, marketing, accounting, etc. for the agency.

Published local business magazine; Coordinated small business contracting workshops in cooperation with SMUD, PG&E, Caltrans, and other agencies; Facilitated workshops for local Chambers of Commerce; Served as Board member of the South Sacramento - Greenhaven Chamber of Commerce; Produced and hosted two local radio business talk shows; Produced television commercials for Comcast customers; Served on Advisory committee for American Heart Association, Taste of the Nation Hunger Relief Program, and the California State Fair; Presided over monthly business mixers held at various locations to promote the business of local clients.

Assisted hundreds of jobseekers obtain jobs or vocational training; Facilitated EDD/SETA orientations for recent unemployment insurance recipients; Maintained case files on all active and inactive clients for 12 months; Coordinated job fairs and monthly “Meet-the-Boss” presentations; Networked with career counselors, educators, and employers to better serve our clients; Facilitated employment workshops and seminars at several local career centers.
