Drove improvements to product quality and design. Developed a personalized, AI generated music playlist experience resulting in a 42% increase in streaming "Groove Music Pass" subscribers. Led retirement of music subscription services and drove strategic music partnership with Spotify to enable customers to migrate their music collections and playlists. Increased Movies and TV app gross margin to $7M and increased NPS score 81 points by improving the customer experience with features such as 4K video, mini-mode (PIP) playback and more robust search and suggestions.

Planned and led development of a set of new inbox applications for Windows 8 demonstrating the capabilities of Microsoft’s new touch enabled Surface hardware. Led the planning and implementation for Windows Maps app which provided local search, directions with turn-by-turn navigation, satellite and 3D city imagery. Direct manager for a remote team of 20 in Dublin, Ireland. Managed and drove external data partnership with HERE maps.Led the design and development of the modern touch-enabled browser for Windows 8 and Surface hardware. Reinvented browsing experiences and UI for touch enabled hardware. Partnered with the Internet Explorer team on enterprise deployment and shared codebase. Designed and developed an innovative set of new Windows apps including Alarms, Calculator and Notepad to encourage and train customers to interact via touch and gestures.

Designed and developed the new Ribbon user interface model for Microsoft Office. This resulted in a more visual and efficient user interface improving customer productivity and feature discoverability. Evangelized and consulted with product owners to lead the implementation of the Ribbon across the Office suite impacting more than 1.2B Office customers. Consulted on the adoption of the Ribbon across Windows OS experiences.Many patents were awarded for components of the Ribbon UI including visual Galleries of formatting choices based on customer’s document or slide templates. Live Preview which enabled customers to hover over and preview formatting choices before applying them to their document. Contextual Ribbon Tabs which automatically appear for formatting objects like Tables or Photos. The Mini-Toolbar which brings the most often used text formatting controls near any selected text. Authored UI licensing guidelines and best practices for 3P application adoption, helping drive UX consistency and standards for customers.
