Cofab Design serves a variety of clients through a offering of contract product design and engineering. We integrate with existing teams or on our own to develop innovative design solutions and realize said designs in the physical. From design conceptualization to new process development for manufacturing, we're there at every step. We intentionally engage with a wide gamut of groups - working on everything from consumer products to medical device development.I'm responsible for oversight of the company, conducting active R&D and walking the line between mechanical engineer, project manager and industrial designer. Whether it's developing organic surface based models, fabricating prototypes, managing a project or programming microcontrollers, it's all part of the fun and eclectic mix.

Teach students how to employ machining practices to design and prototype objects in metals and plastic using lathes and milling machines. This includes teaching students how to employ mechanical design tools and develop their design process in a sympathetic way to the targeted production process.

Develop and manufacture a range of hydro turbines (5kW - 35kW) used for power generation, specializing in the low to medium head range. Apply CAD/CAM and CNC techniques to digitize, model and machine the curvilinear geometry that is needed for turbine runners. Work as a team member to design, re-design, build and assemble turbine systems.

Collaboratively designed and developed CAD model and CAM programming for a organic metal form. This included designing custom fixturing for machining operations to realize the final part. Operated a Tormach CNC mill using Mach3 to cut simultaneous 3-axis parts. Generally helped out around the shop and provided contract CAD and concept development services to clients.

As a member of the TSI team I offered computer and technical services to clients in everything from law to city governments. Offered on-site support, built and configured desktops, servers and networks and provided friendly support to customers. Designed and built websites for clients.

Designed and fabricated a robot from scratch with a small team on a limited budget and worked to creatively make the best of the equipment and machinery we had access to. Worked on all aspects of the process including mechanical design, engineering, fabrication, programming, electrical systems and team management. Produced a short digital animation show casing the relevance of the FIRST program to RMSEL.Volunteered as a mentor for middle school aged kids and taught them how to use Lego Mindstorms to create and program robots for the annual challenge.

Worked in both the hot and cold shop assisting with the creation of blown glass art work. Used glass cutting and polishing processes to finish pieces.
