I'm Aaron, an experienced editor of 17 years, director and colour grader based in Melbourne, with a knack for crafting compelling stories and visuals.Since earning my BA in Cinema and Media with Honours, I've immersed myself in the world of production. From filming lectures at LaTrobe and Monash Universities to capturing live music events for global icons like Lady Gaga and Thirty Seconds to Mars, my journey has been diverse and exciting. > My film While the Cat’s Away… won Best Film at the first Sony Film Festival in 2021.For the past 13 years, I've thrived as a freelancer, collaborating on various projects, from ad campaigns for Melbourne-based agencies to documentaries and corporate videos. Some of which include the AFL 2020 Season launch, music videos for Golden Guitar winner Andrew Swift and Aussie music royalty Noiseworks and the documentary Made from Melbourne, the story of the making a one-of-a-kind Maton guitar, crafted from timber sourced from Melbourne's most iconic live music venues.One of my greatest strengths is finding and creating compelling stories from raw content. My honours degree in screenwriting has been invaluable in this regard, helping me craft narratives from hours of interviews and footage. I thrive under tight deadlines, delivering clear and engaging stories that resonate with audiences.> Despite my deep love for film and television, I often spend more time making decisions what to watch than actually watching them!I have a passion for working with other creative minds to achieve common goals. I actively seek out and value the input and ideas of those around me and believe that collaboration is key to creating impactful stories that align with creative briefs. My experience with branded content has taught me how to enhance brand image through thoughtful and engaging video production.> I make a mean banana bread loaf; I can pickle almost anything, and my nachos are the best… full stop.I'm proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop. Recently, I've taken it upon myself to learn DaVinci Resolve and AVID Media Composer to expand my skill set, especially in colour grading, which has opened new avenues for creative expression.> I once embarrassed myself in front of an Academy Award winning editor and have made Lady Gaga cry.I'm excited to bring my skills and experience to new challenges and opportunities.
