The Technical Program Manager (TPM) is responsible for directing coordination and compliance of Data Center Engineering Operations’ (DCEO) principal goals and projects, including low voltage air circuit breaker maintenance, mechanical system operational testing, electrical system transfer testing, planned power outages, field service bulletin (FSB) corrective actions, infrastructure stewardship projects, and more. The TPM is also expected to drive new, innovative solutions to improve organizational safety, security, and availability.

The Data Center Facility Manager is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center, as well as the maintenance of the data center campus grounds. They manage Engineering Operations Technicians who maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facility equipment including electrical support equipment such as stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, 3 phase electrical systems that include but not limited to switchgear, UPS units, PDUs, and wet cell batteries and associated systems. Mechanical equipment includes CRAC units, air handlers and associated systems, pumps, and motors. Additional support equipment is included in the scope of the role which includes fire suppression systems, building automation systems, and general facilities equipment.

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment in the data center• Lead a team of facility engineers in the completion of day-to-day tasks and long-term projects• Provide training and guidance to a team of facility engineers• Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the data center• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures• Create and deploy new standard practices for facility engineers, Chief Engineers, and vendor support teams• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff• Utilize internal systems to manage building workflows• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience

Operate and maintain the electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems in the Amazon Web Services data centers. Common job duties include acting as a first responder to facility emergency events, overseeing and participating in all changes made to the electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems, managing ticket queues, and working on projects to improve the facility’s Power Usage Efficiency.Member of the AWS Global Critical Switching team, which grants the authority to perform switching of critical loads including utility source, generator, UPS, bussway breakers, and cooling units. Helped to bring two facilities to normal operation following construction, as well as AWS's largest data center from the beginning stages of construction through commissioning to operations.
