About Aaron Copeland

I'll start by asking this question: How important is passion, and what impact does it have on teamwork? I offer this perspective on both.Passion has always been one of the major driving forces of my life. I have always channeled this force into technology, mechanics, and learning new things. This passion even led me to a career in the Air Force. This is where I learned about the real importance of teamwork. In fact, my greatest accomplishment was becoming part of, and contributing to, a world class team – the 419th Maintenance Squadron. The passion of everyone on that team was contagious. With their passion, encouragement, and support, I excelled. As a result of that teamwork, I was awarded Airman of the Year in 2004. Truth be told, I'm no Superman. I couldn't have done it without them. They were certainly better mechanics than I.After that experience, I carried those principles of teamwork with me. I loved being part of the 109th Air Control Squadron. Being on that team was both challenging and rewarding; those were the best years of my Air Force career. Ultimately, it was my passion and pursuit of technology that brought me to Seattle. I joined the DocuSign team and began my work as a software engineer. Teamwork on the civilian side is definitely a different animal. Hyper-growth, restructuring, and team departures constantly changed the team dynamics. Even with those challenges, I loved the team. I used my passion to focus on my work and develop some great projects.Since leaving DocuSign, the opportunity for growth has been exciting. I filled my days by pursuing my passions in several projects. Although it was fun, I was missing something – a team. Those days were tough, and I really could have used some of their passion, encouragement, and support. Simply put, these things make great team a world class team.
