As a Journeyman Lineman I have worked on high voltage overhead and underground distribution power lines. I have built steel transmission towers, and wood H frame structures. I have installed distribution and transmission switches, and recloser switches. I have built cat banks, open and closed power banks, and installed submersible and pad mounted transformers. I have restored electric service to commercial, industrial, agricultural and residential customers in times of calamity. I have done every job from digging holes with shovels and augers, to setting poles with back yard machine, cranes, and helicopters. As a Journeyman Lineman I have refined abilities in leadership and teaching. I have developed skills in the use of hand and power tools. I am bucksqueeze certified and proficient at pole top rescue, first aid and CPR. I have learned the proper use of hoist pulleys and knots in rigging. I have learned to work with digger trucks and bucket trucks and other heavy equipment.
