I began my career with the Sheriff's Office in 1997 as a corrections officer and since then I have had the opportunity to serve as a corrections lieutenant, deputy sheriff, sergeant, lieutenant, major of operations, and chief deputy. While employed at Eagle Crusher I began as a welder which consisted of welding on the crusher boxes of the crusher units and the frames. After gaining my State Welding Certification and Journeyman's Card I began to do set up welding which consisted of reading blueprints and setting up items to be finish welded until pursuing my career in law enforcement.

I worked at Beran Brothers Welding which is no longer in existence while in middle and high school. My job consisted of cutting metal to size for different jobs and painting finished products with a pneumatic painting system. We manufactured a lot of the machinery used at Swan Rubber in Bucyrus which is also no longer in existence.
